Our POP at Global Center, in Melbourne, is currently offline. The data center has
flooded and as a precaution all electricity has been disconnected. No ETA is
available as yet.

TAS, ACT & NSW are affected. Colocation and transit will experience sub optimal
routing.

11:15-15:13 ACST 25th November 2009 QLD Reach DSL backhaul issues

There is an outage affecting all QLD DSL services. A ticket has
been raised with the upstream carrier and we are working with their engineers
investigating the issue.
------------------------------------

--- Update (25/11/2009 12:00:37) ---
Service restored at 11:47.
------------------------------------

--- Update (25/11/2009 12:29:29) ---
The QLD Backhaul issue has re-occurred, resulting in services coming online briefly
and then dropping off again (12:15 & 12:20 AEDT or 11:15 & 11:20 AEST)

Investigation has resumed. Further updates will be sent when available.
------------------------------------

--- Update (25/11/2009 15:13:58) ---
Services were restored shortly after 12:30AEDT, however there were some brief dropouts
initially, and has since stabilised.

We're awaiting an explanation for the cause of the disruption from the line carrier.
------------------------------------

03:55-10:05 ACST 25th November 2009 NSW Reach backhaul issues

There is a known issue affecting all NSW Reach DSL services. Engineers are currently
investigating this issue and further updates will be provided when available.

--- Update (25/11/2009 05:45:38) ---
The outage is a result of a optical line card, intermittently failing. Several work
arounds were tried, however the carrier was unable to stabilize the transmission. A
replacement card is being sent to the site, and is expected to arrive in the next
hour.
------------------------------------

--- Update (25/11/2009 09:02:02) ---
A 10Gigabit SDH Card has gone down within the Telstra Wholesale network, affecting
multiple Carriers.

No ETR is available at this stage, however progress is being made on providing an
Alternate Path, and a faulty line card is being replaced.
------------------------------------

--- Update (25/11/2009 11:03:02) ---
An alternate path has been sourced, and we're in the process of being switched across.
------------------------------------

--- Update (25/11/2009 15:15:09) ---
Hardware has been replaced, which resulted in brief restoration of services in NSW,
however services are still unstable, and the matter is still being worked on.
------------------------------------

--- Update (25/11/2009 17:15:14) ---
Transmission techs are onsite at the VIC end of the NSW transmission. They now
believe the Melbourne end is suffering some sync/timing issue which is contributing
the instability - and are taking physical readings from the suspected device(s).
------------------------------------

--- Update (25/11/2009 20:20:11) ---
The service stabilized at 19:30 after one of the transmission engineers found and
disabled an out-of-service repeater channel that was "spiking" at random intervals.
Its believed this was the cause of line card failure in the initial instance, and
caused the subsequent instability this afternoon once a replacement card had been sourced.

The transmission team are continuing to vigilantly monitor the service.

Most users are now finally back online. Any unable to login after a power cycle
should have single service faults lodged via asp!re.
------------------------------------

--- Update (26/11/2009 10:05:55) ---
The NSW link has been stable for close to 14 hours, and this outage is now being marked
as restored.

We thank you for your patience during an extremely difficult time.
------------------------------------

12:35- 13:30 ACST 16th November 2009 International connectivity issues

We are currently experiencing packet loss and latency to some international
destinations from Adelaide. Engineers are currently investigating this issue and further updates
will be provided when available.

--- Update (16/11/2009 13:30) ---
This issue has been resolved and traffic is returning to normal levels.
------------------------------------

16:55-21:16 AEST 13th November 2009 Emergency Unplanned Event in NSW

Since 16:55:00 AEST there is a known issue affecting all NSW DSL services.
A ticket has been raised with the upstream carrier and we are working with their
engineers investigating the issue.

--- Update (13/11/2009 19:19:43) ---
Transmission engineers are working onsite at the troubled intermediate exchange,
liaising with their transmission equipment vendor. Its a suspected hardware issue
at this stage.

Unfortunately no ETA has been able to be provided yet.
------------------------------------

--- Update (13/11/2009 21:16:08) ---
Service restored at 21:05 AEST. Most users are now back online. Any users unable
to log back on after a power cycle, should have the usual fault diagnosis and fault lodgement.
------------------------------------

7:50am-19:30 NA EST 28th October 2009 Emergency Unplanned Event in Queensland

This outage is affecting all of our Reach24 and ADSL 1 series of adsl plans
serviced within QLD.

At 07:50 we lost physical connectivity with our QLD backhaul affecting all QLD
ADSL/Open services. A fault has been raised with the carrier and we are awaiting
further investigation.

--- Update (28/10/2009 10:18:52) ---
The carrier advised the outage is caused by a cable cut. The engineers are
currently working on re-routing the traffic to an alternate path. More updates
to follow.
------------------------------------

--- Update (28/10/2009 13:11:24) ---
It has been confirmed the fibre cut is in Berwick QLD. Patching/route arounds
paths are being processed manually by the upstream NOC. The repairs are high
priority as the carriers central services are also affected by the outage.
Unfortunately no ETA has been provided on route arounds for our services, or
the fibre trunk repair as yet.
------------------------------------

--- Update (28/10/2009 17:24:51) ---
Cable repairs have been delayed due to challenging location of the break.
A loose ETA on the repairs have been given of 19:30. The cable is a 72 fiber
bundle, so restoration times will depend on which fibers are repaired first.
------------------------------------

--- Update (28/10/2009 18:15:43) ---
Service restored at 17:50 with most users now reconnected.

We awaiting confirmation on the nature of the restore - with the repairs were
completed, or whether we were fortunate enough to get onto a re-patched path.
------------------------------------

--- Update (28/10/2009 19:37:12) ---
Service restoration has been confirmed to be as a result of priority patching.
Physically routing the transmission path around the affected suburb.
This means there will be a roll back to the original path, likely next week in
a scheduled out of hours window. A seperate notification will be raised for
these works, once confirmed with the carrier.
------------------------------------

9:30am-18:24 EST 3rd September 2009 Emergency Unplanned Event in Queensland

This outage is affecting all of our Reach24 and ADSL 1 series of adsl plans
serviced within QLD.

--- Update (03/09/2009 13:24:50) ---
Upstream escalation contacts have advised that a localised fibre cut has been
identified as the cause. Unfortunately all alternative patching paths were
unavailable. So we are now awaiting repair of the fibre.

A fibre repair team arrived at the affected cable path, and have begun
backhoe works. Unfortunately no available ETR has been provided.

--- Update (03/09/2009 16:10:01) ---
The fibre repairs team are still working on the broken cable. The break was
caused by council works on a bridge, which has hindered the repair process.
Due to the location of the break, a temporary route around is being put in
place until permanent repairs can be completed. We have been advised the
temporary repair should be completed by COB.

--- Update (03/09/2009 18:24:02) ---
Interim fibre repairs were completed at 18:15 AEST. Services are now
reconnecting. Customers unable to connect should be advised to turn the power
to their modem off for 5 minutes and retry.

1:00am-1:30am EST 5th June 2009 Emergency Planned Maintenance in Melbourne

Emergency action is required to restart an inaccessible router. Our
attempts to access the device have been unsuccessful via both remote and
out-of-band management. We expect that there may be up to two interruptions
to traffic flow, if we are required to restart the device for debugging
purposes.
