To get the best performance from your EscapeNet internet service it’s important your router or home gateway device is connected correctly.
Open the web browser and type the IP address of the device in the address bar (default is 192.168.1.1; you can check it on the bottom label of the device). Press Enter.
Type the username and password in the login page, the default username and password are both admin. Click OK to log in to the device.

An incorrectly connected router may work initially; but will result in drop-outs, slower speeds and devices that can’t connect to the internet.
Now’s a good time to check your connectivity.
Most routers feature a seperate DSL (internet) port, often gray in colour and distanced from the other ports. This telephone sized port is smaller than the network ports and is designed to connect directly to your telephone socket on the wall.

If you’re having to reboot your router often, now’s a good time to check it out.
Most routers feature a dedicated WAN (internet) port, often coloured blue or red. This network port is designed to connect directly to the NBN NTU (the NBN box) for internet connectivity.
On some devices, the WAN (internet) port is dual-purpose and marked LAN/WAN.

From your web browser of choice, visit http://192.169.0.1 and when prompted enter the default username as admin and password as admin. If you have previously changed these, enter the correct login details now.
